Did She Encounter An Angel?

Our friend Brooke and her husband and adult son had been staying in a long-term hotel for almost year while their house was being renovated from water damage. Brooke had been making the most of their visit by being kind to many people and touching many of their lives. One morning, Brooke and her son Steve, were having breakfast and having a deep conversation about his battle with alcoholism, that he was in recovery from, and about his total estrangement from the church. Brooke had noticed a woman sitting by herself across the room from them when they sat down, but too far away to have heard any of their conversation. Brooke supposed that the woman was a new hotel guest. When Steve left for work, the woman came over to Brook’s table and said, please don’t be concerned about your son, I have had a lot of experience with alcoholism, and your son will recover completely, and he will come back to God and the church. Brooke noted that the woman was very reassuring and that she felt very encouraged and uplifted by the woman’s words. After the woman left, Brooke went to the front desk and described the woman, and asked if she was a new hotel guest? They said, no Brooke, we have no new guests that fit your description. When Brooke told me this story, I said, sounds like an encounter with an angel, that delivered a message to you from God.

Thanks for having an interest in my blog. You are welcome to read, comment and ask questions. I do have a few requests. I know this is an election year, but I am asking commenters not to make any political comments. I also ask that if a post angers you, to please let yourself calm down before you comment. I very much welcome calm thoughtful disagreement and criticism. If in a post I make a mistake, I will very much appreciate you pointing it out to me. Let’s face it we all make assumptions, and often they contain flaws. Again I appreciate your participation in this blog.
