A Small Kindness

My wife Judi and I were watching a Prime movie last evening titled: Wave of Kindness and the theme was that showing kindness to another was what made us happy, and that showing love and kindness is a gift. That reminded me of a scene from the John Burke book Imagine Heaven. This scene follows a Life Review that Jesus had for one of the NDErs: It is found on page 264: “After his Life Review, one NDEr said, “I saw how selfish I was and how I would give anything to go back and change.” Many NDErs say that of all the aspects of the NDE, the Life Review is by far the one that prompts the greatest personal transformation, because it allows the person to relive his or her own life – to witness mistakes and missteps as well as good deeds and decisions. “Things that seemed insignificant at the time – a small kindness, for instance – turn out to be significant in their own or another person’s life.”

Thanks for having an interest in my blog. You are welcome to read, comment and ask questions. I do have a few requests. I know this is an election year, but I am asking commenters not to make any political comments. I also ask that if a post angers you, to please let yourself calm down before you comment. I very much welcome calm thoughtful disagreement and criticism. If in a post I make a mistake, I will very much appreciate you pointing it out to me. Let’s face it we all make assumptions, and often they contain flaws. Again I appreciate your participation in this blog.
